Compositions
Dorian - Ave Maria
This Ave Maria opens with a soft, solemn introduction from the strings, creating a sacred atmosphere. The voice then rises, pure and prayerful, taking up a simple theme initiated by the strings. The violin enters into a dialogue with the voice, weaving an intimate and expressive relationship. Gradually, the violin rises to a virtuoso and mystical climax. The apotheosis comes when voice and violin merge in a sacred clamour. The quartet then extends the work's inner, secret theme, before the voice concludes with two suspended notes, a leap into the unknown, like a door that is crossed without return.
Dorian - Romance no.1
Credits for the Passeport Francophone radio programme presented by Didier Lorenzini on Radio PLURIEL composed at the request of the presenter. It was a real pleasure to collaborate on this programme and to contribute to its sound identity.
Dorian - Romance no.2
This romance is in three parts. The first is slow and melancholy, with the violin expressing deep sorrow, supported by the piano, which weaves rich, sensitive melismas. The middle section, brighter and more luminous, evokes an ancient dance with rural overtones. Finally, the last section returns briefly to the initial mood, like an echo of memory, and concludes with a coda from the violin, combining resignation and appeasement.
Arrangements
Chopin - Nocturne no.16 for piano trio
In this arrangement, the violin takes hold of the melody with tender expressiveness, accompanied by the cello, which supports it and in turn takes up the theme with depth. The whole evokes a night where thoughts are no longer solitary but shared, an echo in three voices of the same melancholy.
Chopin - Nocturne no.19 for piano trio
In this arrangement, the solitary voice of the piano becomes a shared lament. The theme is made even more expressive by the flights of the other two instruments. The cello plays a plaintive counterpoint while the notes of the violin soar upwards in pain. The chamber writing opens up a dialogue between the instruments, a shared cry, a populated solitude.
Chopin - Nocturne no.21 for piano trio
In this adaptation for piano trio, the melodic line is shared between the violin and the cello, which in turn carry the song with an almost painful simplicity. Their blended timbres evoke human fragility, restrained impetus and the murmur of an inner voice like a slow meditation.
Chopin - Nocturne no.8 for piano trio
In this transcription for trio, the main line finds a new resonance in the voice of the violin, sometimes fluid and singing, sometimes suspended in silence. The cello takes over from time to time, bringing a tender gravity and velvety depth to the discourse. This nocturne becomes an elegant, melancholy breath, a reverie shared between three instruments that, together, give voice to a tenderness without emphasis.
